In the Alert Statistic we see that there are brute force, scans and other attacks towards our customers from the Internet. These attacks do not form any real threat towards our customers. The alerted incidents are mostly directed attacks from Internet, or ignorant users at the customers' site. There has been a slight increase in the number of reconnaissance attacks this month, in comparison with last month. This is mostly because there have been a great deal of traffic towards port 5900 (VNC) towards the end of the month. The traffic has its origin mostly in Poland and Hungary.
Focus of the monthIn the Focus of the Month we look at the Data Retention Directive. We describe the directive from a Norwegian point of view. This is meant as a summary of the most important news about this directive, which has been in many news media this month. Threats and Trends is produced by personnel in Secode's Operations Centre, and the report is based upon events registered during the specified period. The report contains events deemed to be of public interest, as they are registered by Secode and the vaious sensors and observation points in different networks. All specific and identifiable information about companies and Secode customers is removed in this report. The reports are published on these pages monthly. The reports only contain observations, and Secode will not accept any responsibility for interpretations, theories or conclusions based on this material by any third party.
